Over 22 years of Professional Experience in Bookkeeping & Accounting Services
My undergraduate degree is in Sociology with a minor in Business and my Master’s Degree is in Environmental Management. How did I end up doing full-charge bookkeeping? I decided at age 27 to start my own retail business with no expertise and no money. I opened a paint-your-own pottery studio with an espresso bar in the high-rent area of Boulder, CO. I had never touched a kiln or worked with pottery, but wanted something that was my own. My learning was all self-taught and boy did I make a lot of mistakes. In my five years of having that business, I was forced to learn management, HR, marketing, customer service, accounting, inventory and finance. I was able to sell the business to a customer of mine for 4 times what I put into it. The American Dream!
This is why I am the best accounting professional to work with small businesses…I have been there. You need to focus on your business and don’t have the time, or often the aptitude, to do the bookkeeping or get things ready for your CPA for tax season. Having done all types of full-charge bookkeeping, I have found my niche as a Quickbooks Online Consultant.
As a certified Quickbooks Online Pro Advisor, I have worked with 10-million dollar annual budgets, and $50,000 annual budgets, and everything in between. I have helped small business owners take their shoebox full of receipts and create a Quickbooks Online account for them, trained them how to use the system and then provided monthly review and financial reporting preparation to keep things in order.
I have provided services for numerous nonprofit organizations that needed to streamline their financial processes, and added apps to cut down their bill pay time by 50%. I have also worked with several independent and public charter schools with robust accounting systems that needed transparency, accuracy and productivity improvements.
